We’ve already talked about catalogs.  Now it’s time to let people know you are in business!!!  I’ll be talking about marketing your jewelry business in the near future, however,  business cards are a must, if you intend to let people know that you have started your own jewelry business.  You’ll want to not only hand out business cards at your jewelry events; but you’ll want to hand your business card to everyone you meet.  You want to get your name out there!

Because we are all on a tight budget, I am first going to tell you the most economical way to produce your business cards is to do them yourself.  Best news?  It’s not hard, and I’m going to tell you how you can make them quick and easy….and cheap!!  If you have a student in the house, chances are you have the student version of Microsoft Office, which has the program, “Microsoft Publisher.”  You may have a different publishing program on your computer, or have a friend who has a publishing program, such as Microsoft Publisher on their computer.  That being said, using Publisher is quite easy.

How to make your own business cards using Microsoft Publisher:

• Open Publisher
• You should be on the Template Page
• Click on “Business Cards”
• Select the style you like best OR click on a Blank Card to design your own business card.  (this is great if you have your own logo or photo)
• Fill in your name, contact information, etc.  If using a Blank Card, insert your photo or logo
• Once you have designed your business card, click “Print.”

The program will automatically show you a full page of your business cards.  You can go to an office supply card and pick up a ream of business card sheets.  Wasn’t hard, was it?

If you wish to have your business cards printed, you can do this at a nominal fee.  My suggestion would be to visit, www.visatprint.com.  This site is one of the least expensive sites I’ve found on the web for printing business cards super cheap.  If you know of a site that also prints business cards cheaply, let us know!
